in the Bronx community. RESPONSIBILITIES Be able to travel between
multiple Food Pantry sites to assist with distribution. Provide
general outreach and promotion for program (outdoor and indoor)
Provide office support including: clerical, filing, faxing,
scanning, typing, photocopying and sorting mail Answer telephones
and offer other office support, when necessary Report to, and meet
with, supervisor on a weekly basis or as determined Perform
additional duties as assigned Program Specific Responsibilities
Support strategies for community outreach and recruitment Become
knowledgeable of every component and service offered by the CMCC
Food Pantry Provide assistance with all Food Pantry activities,
such as, lifting boxes, sorting food, assisting with inventory
management, and crowd control Complete data entry for Food Pantry
clients Greet clients and schedule appointments for them to receive
services Create and distribute informational materials and fliers
in targeted (and other) communities in the Bronx to promote
services, events, and other special functions Refer clients to an
appropriate program for enrollment services Perform data entry work
Perform other duties as necessary QUALIFICATIONS High school
diploma or equivalent Proficiency in modern business communications
including personal computers, laptops, cell phones, tablets, iPad,
electronic mail, voicemail, facsimile and copier equipment
Proficiency in English required; proficiency in Bengali, Spanish or
French is preferred Driver’s License preferred PHYSICAL
REQUIREMENTS Ability to use a computer for prolonged periods.
Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Ability
to stand, walk, or sit for long periods of time, or climb five
flights of stairs, if required to conduct home visits and/or
fieldwork. Ability to bend and retrieve objects and/or documents.
Ability to travel in the boroughs of New York City and its adjacent
counties via public transportation. Ability to travel for a minimum
of 1 mile within a reasonable amount of time and in all types of
weather, including inclement weather, if required to conduct home
