Job Description:
We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer/Project Manager who
possesses excellent technical, leadership, communication, and
execution skills to spearhead the Engineering and Strategy
Implementation for our Commercial Insurance Auto product and
platform. In this role, you will report to the Auto platform
delivery lead and manage a collection of applications serving the
Small Commercial and Lower Middle Market segments. You will be
responsible for guiding the delivery engineering teams in strategic
initiatives, tactical improvements, and ensuring overall system
reliability and availability. Collaborating with the Leadership
team, you will develop and implement strategies aimed at
maintaining technical relevance and driving modernization efforts
for the applications in your portfolio. In this role, you will:
Manage and lead Auto 2.0 product and platform and end-to-end,
including project execution, solution design, portfolio health,
governance, delivery and planning adhering to strategy. Work with
project managers and engineers to ensure alignment of program
deliverables to defined and engineer sound technical solution.
Implement appropriate Agile and DevOps practices in collaboration
with product delivery and operation support teams. Author/create
and review use cases. Create and maintain Epics, user stories, and
acceptance criteria. Work with senior stakeholders to review
product epics/user stories and get sign-offs promptly. Provide
adequate technical and functional support on triage and resolution
of any defects/control issues. Work with developers closely to
review code, enforce best practices, debug critical issues, and
conduct performance testing to deliver efficient and performant
applications. Drive engineering best practices across the
portfolio, including Design, DevSecOps, Quality Engineering, Cloud
Implementation, etc. Oversee and manage a team of engineers,
business analysts, and scrum masters. Partner with business
stakeholders to prioritize and deliver incrementally on the highest
value work. Responsible for identifying and documenting technology
risk and corresponding mitigation strategies. Implement and manage
appropriate governance processes and tools while maintaining a key
focus on Engineering delivery. Responsible for assisting with
project vision through product delivery by maintaining requirements
traceability. Work with the business users to facilitate user
demos, testing, sign-offs following the standard Agile process.
Collaborate with Transformation & Change Delivery process resources
to ensure requirements and solutions fit into the process flow and
do not create gaps and/or breakages. Bachelor's Degree, Computer
Science or Engineering degrees preferred. Good understanding of
Insurance business domains, especially in commercial property and
casualty space. Technical Skills 10 years of hands-on engineering
and delivery in Technology, including designing, building,
deploying, and maintaining full-stack end-to-end software
applications/solutions; Extensive working experience in Scrum
Agile, POD Structure, and attending Agile ceremonies. Experience in
development of REST-based APIs (using C#, .NET), back-end
capabilities (using NodeJS and Typescript), and front-end web apps
(using Angular/React, HTML, and CSS), Java/J2EE, Spring Boot,
and/or SQL Server Experience & expertise in Cloud platform and
solutions, e.g. Azure Blob, API Management, Cosmos DB, and AKS;
Azure technical certifications a plus Experience in and knowledge
of project management and planning tools – i.e. JIRA, Confluence,
Office, etc. Hands-on experience with cloud DevSecOps tools and
practices including code quality, code coverage tools/frameworks,
continuous integration, test automation, and continuous deployment
pipelines Extensive knowledge and experience of underwriting
platform architectures, from blueprint to solution design and
implementation Exposure to Information Security and Risk Management
Experience in cloud solution design and implementation of IaaS,
PaaS and SaaS and hybrid models Experience creating business
process workflows and support product owner with integrated road
map reviews. Must possess excellent interpersonal skills, strong
communictools,kills (written and verbal), and be team-oriented.
Must be detail conscious, technically motivated, creative, and user
oriented. Able to determine and expertly communicate impacts of
system functionality and technical approach on performance,
scalability, and maintainability. Foundational/Leadership Skills
Experience with agile delivery and execution, including Scrum
planning, execution, governance, and reporting Proven track record
of successfully managing and executing large scale,
cross-functional initiatives – including implementing and
maintaining key performance indicators for engineering and delivery
Expertise in building and sustaining engaged and high-performing
diverse teams, with a culture of inclusion and performance
management Deep passion for technology, with a focus on staying
current with the evolving world of technology and needs of the
business Leadership skills and emotional intelligence, including
communication, facilitation, servant leadership,
stakeholder/relationship management, negotiation, expectation
management, and collaboration. The pay range for the role is
$155,000 to $195,000. The specific offer will depend on an
applicant’s skills and other factors. This role may also be
eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive
