Job Description:
Robert Wood Johnson is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider to
join the Cancer Center,This is a full-time opportunity to join a
dynamic team at the state s only NCI designated Cancer Center,The
ideal candidate is a self-motivated learner and able to collaborate
with medical and nursing colleagues.This is a ambulatory
position.Job Requirement:
- Must have oncology experience.
- Master s degree in Nursing required.
- Registered Professional Nurse with current NJ state license;
CDS and DEA.
- CPR certification.
- NP Certification.
- Three to five years of work experience as a professional
nurse.Job Responsibilities:
- Patient Management
- Performs comprehensive initial and episodic health assessments;
in order to identify existing or potential health problems,
- Initiates and implements an individualized nursing and medical
plan of care in collaboration with members of interdisciplinary
team,
- Initiates appropriate diagnostic, therapeutic, medical and
nursing actions in conjunction with physician,
- Provides follow-up care including acute and routine
examinations,
- Assesses progress, identify problems, initiate preventive
measures, recognize emergent problems, initiate proper care in
collaboration with physician,
- Monitors and adjusts patients medication according to protocol
or medical plan of care including adequate pain control,
- Implements nutritional therapies, as appropriate,
- Triages patient problem calls which requires medical
attention,
- Orders appropriate laboratory and diagnostic procedures,
- Recognizes normal and abnormal laboratory findings and the
pathology involved,
- Documents information in patients charts following
documentation standards established by RWJ and the Cancer
Institute,
- Provides health education to the patient and family management
of side effects, anticipatory teaching,
- Manages medical emergencies as indicated, and according to
standing orders,
- Provides monitoring and continuity of care between health care
settings,
- Provides patient and family counseling and reassurance in
regard to psychological and or psychosocial issues,
- Initiates proper referrals to private or community
agencies,
- Acts as a resource and teacher for other members of the health
care team,
- Shares knowledge and expertise with staff,
- Collaborates with the Cancer Institute's nursing and medical
staff at partner and affiliate sites to coordinate continuity of
care,
- Evaluates the quality of care as well as the quality of life
for patients through assessment of patient response and recommend
interventions, as indicated,
- Supports the research mission by collaborating with the
