a better future. The Grant Writer is part of IRC New Jersey’s
development team focused on identifying and applying for grant
opportunities to sustain and grow programs that serve over 7,000
refugees and immigrants in northern New Jersey annually. Major
Responsibilities: Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Research grant opportunities from foundations, corporations, and
government agencies • Write and edit grant proposals, letters of
inquiry, and supporting materials • Manage grant calendars,
submission deadlines, and documentation • Collaborate with program
and finance teams to develop accurate budgets and narratives •
Ensure compliance with funder guidelines and application protocols
• Track funding status and maintain grant records in CRM or
tracking systems • Support post-award reporting, outcome tracking,
and renewal applications as needed • Contribute to fundraising
strategies and prospecting plans as needed • Satisfy recordkeeping
and reporting requirements. • Other duties as assigned. Job
Requirements: Education: Bachelor’s degree English, communications,
nonprofit management, public administration, or a related field.
Work Experience: • 1 year of experience writing successful grant
proposals • Familiarity with nonprofit programs, evaluation
metrics, or logic models • Experience with post-award compliance
and reporting preferred Demonstrated Skills & Competencies: •
Exceptional writing, editing, and formatting skills • Ability to
develop compelling, evidence-based narratives • Experience with
budgeting and financial justification in grant contexts •
Familiarity with grant databases and portals (e.g., Grants.gov,
Foundation Directory Online, SAM.gov) • Demonstrated ability to
promote an organizational culture that reflects IRC’s core values
of service, accountability, integrity, and equality. • Strong
relationship building, diplomacy, and networking skills; ability to
effectively build internal and external relationships. •
Demonstrated success working and communicating effectively in
various global environments and contexts. • Self-starter with
excellent problem-solving skills combined with the proven ability
to prioritize and manage time effectively. • Attention to detail
and accuracy in work product. • Proficient in Microsoft Office
applications (Word, Excel, Outlook); ability to use the internet
and other digital tools for data entry, research, and
problem-solving purposes. Working Environment: • A combination of
standard office environment and remote work. This is a hybrid
position with a schedule of 3 days in office and 2 days remote
work. Compensation: (Pay Range: $31.00 - $32.90) Posted pay ranges
apply to US-based candidates. Ranges are based on various factors
including the labor market, job type, internal equity, and budget.
