therapeutically aligned professionals accountable for the strategic
planning, development and updating of global content (GC) to be
incorporated into Medical Information (MI) responses across all
AbbVie regions and affiliates. This person will oversee and
contribute to the inclusion of scientific content in MI response
documents and communicates to HCPs, consumers, and reimbursement
decision makers. They will partner with internal stakeholders to
identify scientific gaps and strategic solutions for AbbVie. In
addition, this person is responsible for collaboration with Global
Medical Information (GMI) colleagues within AbbVie regions and
affiliates to ensure local needs are being met. This role could be
based in Florham, NJ; Mettawa, IL; or Irvine, CA Responsibilities
Directs a therapeutically aligned team of medical professionals
responsible for providing accurate, timely, and unbiased medical
information to respond to unsolicited requests. Manages and
develops individual and team performance while ensuring the team
complies with regulatory and corporate requirements by guiding
staff decision making. Facilitates and aids in procuring
appropriate resourcing for their pillar. Oversees and contributes
to the timely and accurate development and maintenance of GC,
summarizing literature and clinical guidelines, and assisting in
the development/approval of Data on File in accordance with
established policies and practice standards. Ensures content
conveys a clear and appropriate medical message. Provides review
and approval of medical content, including complex and sensitive
information. Assists team in responding to unsolicited medical
information requests in a timely manner. May serve as a management
resource for congress/medical information booth planning and
logistics. Able to critically evaluate data, and maintain an
in-depth understanding of product knowledge, associated disease
states, treatment guidelines, labeling, and relevant internal data
for assigned therapeutic area. Serve as an active member of Global
and/or Area/Local Medical Affairs teams. Contributes to cross
functional strategic and tactical planning. Ensures GMI
product/indication launch activities/responsibilities are
successfully executed. May partner with cross-functional teams (eg.
Hub management, Global/Regional TA Leads, Area Regional medical,
Affiliate MI teams) to ensure creation of relevant GC to meet
customer needs. Assists in providing solutions to deliver medical
information to customers in unique and innovative ways.
Commercially aware of the needs of internal and external customers.
Works with cross-functional colleagues to assist in the development
of AMCP dossiers. Oversees the identification of GMI insights based
on MI inquiries and partner with cross-functional colleagues to
identify scientific gaps and strategic solutions. Works with GMI
leadership team for planning and implementation of departmental
strategies. Essential Skills/Abilities Ability to coordinate and
lead multidisciplinary and cross-divisional meetings. Must possess
excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
Demonstrated direct people management experience helpful. Ability
to analyze and anticipate business needs to identify business
opportunities. Ability to develop and implement therapeutic team
level strategies. Demonstrates cultural sensitivity. Demonstrated
understanding of legal and regulatory environment of pharmaceutical
industry. Must possess excellent oral and written English
communication skills Experience in providing innovative and unique
solutions for delivery of medical information desired. Experience
in understanding and evaluating HEOR and Real World Data desired
Qualifications Bachelors degree and graduation from an accredited
Nursing, PA, Pharmacy, PhD in Health Sciences, or MD/DO program.
Advanced degree preferred. 4 years of experience in the
pharmaceutical industry (MI experience preferred) or 6 years of
experience in health care related field. Substantial understanding
of relevant therapeutic area(s) required, with a basic
understanding of how medical information content and communications
supports AbbVie business needs. Drug Information residency
